PointsBet recently announced that MIXI’s latest proposal has been approved by the Australian Foreign Investment Review Board (FIBR). This clearance under the Foreign Acquisitions and Takeovers Act 1975 signals a green light for MIXI to proceed with the acquisition.
MIXI had indicated its willingness to pursue an off-market takeover bid if regulatory approval was not granted. The deal still awaits further regulatory approvals, including those from regulators in Ontario, where PointsBet has a presence.
