MrBeast to Film Second Season of ‘Beast Games’ in Las Vegas
MrBeast, known as Jimmy Donaldson, has gained widespread fame for creating unique game shows and showcasing them on his YouTube channel, which has over 385 million subscribers. The online sensation is set to head to Las Vegas for the filming of the second season of his popular game show, “Beast Games.”
Giant Building Constructed for ‘Beast Games’ Season 2 Filming
The Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) recently announced that episode 201 of ‘Beast Games’ will be filmed exclusively at South Point. The production is estimated to have a budget of $16 million, all of which is planned to be spent in Nevada.
During the month-long process, which includes pre-production, filming, and wrapping up, around 500 professionals will be hired. These professionals include grips, electricians, carpenters, painters, production assistants, producers, security personnel, and various other crew members.
Permits approved by Clark County for a dirt lot at 2725 W. Pyle Ave., owned by South Point owner Michael Gaughan’s South 80 LLC, have been reviewed by the Clark County Fire Prevention Bureau. The plans involve the temporary use of six diesel generators and 500-gallon fuel tanks, with a total fuel capacity of 7,562 gallons. Filming is scheduled to begin mid-June, with a move-in date of May 1 and a dismantling date of June 30. ‘Beast Games’ is expected to be streamed on Amazon Prime Video.
Challenges Faced in the Past
The first season of ‘Beast Games’ was filmed at Allegiant Stadium in July 2024, near Las Vegas. The show featured 2,000 contestants competing for a $5 million prize through various challenges. Despite being promoted as the “biggest competition in game show history,” it became embroiled in controversy, leading to a class-action lawsuit over alleged mistreatment. The lawsuit, filed by five female contestants last September, accused the production of sexual harassment, inadequate food, insufficient medical support, and failure to cover expenses and wages.
Since then, MrBeast has hosted more events in Las Vegas, such as the “MrBeast Experience” at Resorts World. However, this event also faced criticism as fans demanded refunds, claiming it was disorganized and lacking in MrBeast’s presence. Each contestant had paid $1,000 for a three-day package promising an unforgettable experience, including on-site activations at select restaurants on the property.
